Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, it's what's for breakfast...
Is Oatmeal Raisin cookies an acceptable breakfast option? In my rush to get stuff lined up before school starts next week, I'm actually pondering this question. (I'm not sure what this means- feel free to Psychoanalyze on your own.) To all those Moms(Dads) in my shoes who've spent way too much time trying to find the perfect sign to have your child hold on his/her first day of Kindergarten, to spending countless hours after bedtime on Pinterest for school lunch ideas, to making sure we have a bazillion glue sticks & other supplies, to back to school haircuts and on & on, I understand. Which, in part, is why I'm really asking the previous question? One could make the argument that oatmeal & raisins are great choices for breakfast or anytime, but I do suppose the butter, sugar & flour that help make it into a yummy cookie aren't the best choices. But what about in a pinch? Ok, honestly, I don't think I'd ever let my kids have these for breakfast, but how different are they from the breakfast cookie that some companies sell? I've never tried them so just wondering...food for thought.
Well we tackled back to school haircuts like a pro yesterday. No one argued or cried. No gnashing of teeth or bloodshed. Thankfully, it was smiles & thank yous. Even better was there was no bribery or incentive. Victory!!!!
School supplies purchased! Holy Hannah do they need A LOT of glue in Kindergarten. Do they glue each other? When they've misbehaved does the teacher glue them to the time out chair? Inquiring minds want to know. I can admit I've seen my boys with glue & the result usually isn't pretty. But these teachers are trained professionals & I'm sure they can handle it. If I let my imagination run wild, it makes me giggle at the thought of twenty boys & girls armed with glue sticks...oh the scene... Can you picture it? Chaos!!!
Off to complete more back to school tasks like testing. Oh vey!
