As the days tick away and Kindergarten drawers nearer (tomorrow - yikes), I've been trying to keep the boys entertained. Last weekend they both did a sleepover at Grandma Lani's house so Darren and I could celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The boys did fabulous & Grandma survived. They played, watched movies, ate junk food & visited the book store for some new treasures. They had a wonderful time and are excited for the next time. Darren and I had a fantastic time too - two yummy meals out, uninterrupted & minimal talk of the kiddos. It was great. I sure miss that when life gets busy with school, sports, meals, chores, baths & all the other stuff that seems to suck up time like a vacuum on a pile of spilled Cheerios. Here one minute, gone the next! Zach also needed his biyearly teeth cleaning, so we did that too. We made apple, peanut butter, and mini marshmallow smiles to share. He loves trips to the Dentist and I hope that remains forever. While there, we discovered the next wiggly tooth & I'm sure news of a Tooth Fairy visit will be forth coming. Pray for me as Kadin's first Dentist visit is in a few weeks - yikes!!!! We've also spent time over the last few days with building, making play dough snakes, ninja time, and baking delicious banana, zucchini & pumpkin breads to deliver to Daddy's work. we also had to make sure Zach had his back to school outfit, gym shoes, lunch box & backpack. In all honesty, I think I have kept myself so busy with tasks, that I haven't allowed myself to really deal with letting him go. In fact, it probably won't fully hit me until both boys are in school next week. They are growing up so fast & I can hardly believe it. Even though they drive me bonkers at times, I'm truly blessed to be their Mommy! I love my boys so much!!!!
Here's to tomorrow! Kindergarten here we come.....I'm sure there will be stories to share.
Until then.... Blessings.
